As many of us were praying in the synagogue during the afternoon of Yom Kippur Wall Street was having one of its worst afternoons in history. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is now down below 8,600 points. $8.3 trillion in shareholder wealth has been wiped out in the last year and $2.3 trillion of that has been lost in the last seven days alone. Analysts are claiming that the selloff in markets around the world has been motivated by the fear that the world is sinking into a deep recession. Recommend this article... |

Below please find the two page article in the second largest Israeli Daily newspaper the Maariv that featured "Jewish Wisdom for Business Success." Unfortunately the reporter at the Maariv did not check all his facts when he states that Jewish organizations and news outlets in the USA did not want to have anything to do with the book. In fact the book was reviewed by The Intermountain Jewish News, The Jewish Voice and we will be blogging on Jewcy.com about the book next week and it is featured on Jewcy.com's book club. In addition The J in San Francisco will be doing a feature on the book and FRUMSATIRE.NET featured it on his blog and The Jewish Journal also featured it on theirs. The reporter for the Maariv seems to have made an error that a quick Google search or reading of the base New York Time article would have shown to be incorrect. Here is the article from the Maariv:

The markets have been very volatile lately and according to most experts the United States has entered a recession. All of this uncertainty and financial difficulties is a result of the credit crises that was sparked by the collapse of the subprime mortgage market. We have now seen the downfall of three major investment banks and a number or mainstream banks. To restore the financial system and to fend off a depression the US government would like to bail out Wall Street with a whopping $700. Recommend this article... |
